Glassworks Runs The Cambridge Half Marathon

Glassworks International is so proud of its team members Kieran, Paul, Matt and Dan, who took part in the 2021 Cambridge Half Marathon raising £2,000 for the headline charity partner, Cancer Research. We were proud to support the guys in their charitable activities for this well-deserving charity that helps change lives.

This being its 10th year, 15,000 runners took to the beautiful and historic streets of Cambridge on the 17th of October. This year’s event was running at full capacity after a challenging few years during the COVID-19 pandemic, with thousands of runners pounding the pavement.

The Cambridge Half Marathon brought together businesses, running enthusiasts and those looking for a challenge to raise money for numerous national and local charities such as Alzheimer’s Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, Charlie Waller, Muscular Dystrophy UK, and Mind to name just a few.

Runners enjoyed surprisingly good weather for October and beautiful views passing through countless historical landmarks including King’s College and Jesus College, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Botanical Gardens and along the backs of Kings Parade, an image inherently linked to the town of Cambridge.

The entire Glassworks team successfully completed the route in an excellent time of just over 2 hours!

Since its inception in 2012, the TTP Cambridge Half Marathon has become one of the biggest and fastest-selling events in the UK with runners travelling from far and wide to take part within a town steeped in history.

In 2020, whilst the half marathon could not run at full capacity, runners of the race raised nearly half a million pounds for charity and contributed nearly one million pounds to the local Cambridgeshire economy and 2021 is set to exceed this with fundraising amounts currently being counted.

This year, the Cambridge Half Marathon teamed up with Cambridgeshire based independent technology company, TTP, who will be the Title Partner of the race for the next 3 years.

The half marathon has always stood for the community which is why TTP became the perfect title partner due to the shared mission to support the Cambridge Community.

For Glassworks, the way in which the Cambridge Half Marathon brings everyone together seemed like the perfect match for our team to test out their stamina and agility as well as raise some much-needed funds for a deserving charity.
