When Jamie’s on the Front Line: How We Turn Questions into Trusted Partnerships

Every working week, Jamie answers many questions.
Some are quick – “What is your minimum order quantity?”
Others are complex – “I’m looking for a suitable jar for my chilli Jam but need it to be lighter than my  current offering”.
Some are technical: “Will this jar compatibly seal on my filling line?”
Over time, Jamie has become something of a guide, confidant and translator between our customers and our glass supply chain.

We believe that how we answer those questions is just as important as what we answer. Because it’s not enough to be correct, we must be clear and transparent.

Let’s walk you through Jamie’s week –  the kinds of questions he gets and show how we believe we are leading the way in customer service and support at Glassworks International.

Monday: The “getting started” questions

On Monday mornings, Jamie is answering messages from new or prospective clients. Some of the frequent queries:

“What types of glass packaging do you supply?”

We offer a wide range: wine bottles (Bordeaux, Burgundy, lightweight versions), spirit bottles, food jars (honey, sauces, chutneys), soft drinks, miniatures, oils and more.

“Do you do bespoke / custom bottles or jars?”

Yes, we offer full mould development, CAD renderings, closure compatibility consultations, embossing, screen printing, labelling and more.

“Do you offer lightweight glass?”

Absolutely. Our lightweight bottles reduce CO₂ emissions, lower transport costs and help brands meet sustainability goals, (without compromising strength or aesthetics).

“What’s your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?”

For standard bottles and jars, it typically starts at around one pallet (approximately 1,200–2,500 units depending on the model). For bespoke designs, we’ll advise depending on the specification.

Jamie’s aim: to respond thoughtfully, not formulaically. He doesn’t just paste the FAQ, he sometimes says: “If you are just launching, let me check whether we can split (via one of our agents) a pallet or use a standard product that fits your budget.” That kind of flexibility builds trust from day one.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Deep dives & complex technical challenges

Midweek, Jamie often handles more technical or behind-the-scenes questions. Some examples:

“Do you manage import, customs, and duty clearance?”

Yes. We handle international freight, UK customs clearance, duty and last-mile delivery to your warehouse or filling site.

“How fast can you deliver?”

UK-stock: 1-2 working days

EU factories: 2-6 weeks

Custom production runs: 6-12 weeks (and in urgent cases, we’ll propose split deliveries or interim stock)

“Where are your products manufactured?”

We partner with trusted glass factories across Europe and when necessary, globally, always with strict quality and food-safety audits.

“Can you support with technical testing and compatibility?”

Yes – we offer line-compatibility checks, impact & strength testing, troubleshooting and ongoing support. Our technical team has decades of combined experience.

“Why choose Glassworks over buying directly from a factory?”

With us, you get UK-based customer service, consolidated logistics, flexible payment, real stock, supply chain oversight and a partner who speaks “your language” not just steel and kilns.

When Jamie answers these, he doesn’t hide behind jargon. He’ll walk you through what really matters to you, for your cost structure, or how container lead times work in the current climate. The goal: full transparency.

Thursday & Friday: Problem solving, special requests & follow-ups

By Thursday, queries could be custom requests, urgent changes, or clarifications:

“Can you reduce my packaging costs?”

We regularly help clients by proposing lighter weights, redesigning shapes to use less glass, or optimising packaging specs to avoid waste.

“Can I visit your showroom, inspect stock, or meet your team?”

Yes, you’re welcome to visit our offices and sample library, or schedule a consultation or audit. We also exhibit at trade shows, as we are next week at The London Packaging Show at the Excel.

“What are your payment terms?”

We typically use pro forma, but 30-day terms are available for approved trade customers. We also accept multiple currencies (GBP, EUR, USD).

“Can you support labelling, decoration, closures, or sealing solutions?”

Yes, we supply closures (corks, aluminium and plastic screw caps, tamper seals, biodegradable options) and support decoration, labelling, embossing, etc. Follow the link and learn more about our sister company that could help with your design and website needs.

On Friday, Jamie often follows up on quotes, checks with factories about mould changes, reviews forecast adjustments, or sends update emails to customers. He’s always proactive, not reactive.

What sets us apart: Why our service matters more than just “glass delivery”

Jamie doesn’t see customers as “orders” – he sees them as partners. Every call or email is handled with patience, clarity and goodwill.

Full-stack support, from concept to compliance.

We don’t just ship bottles. We help with design, technical validation, regulatory compliance, logistics and cost optimisation.

Proactive communication.

We don’t wait until there’s an issue. If lead times change, if customs rules shift, Jamie and the team will alert you, propose alternatives, and importantly, guide you through.

Deep industry knowledge.

Our FAQ (and internal knowledge base) is solid. But more importantly, Jamie and our technical team can talk through unusual specs, rare materials or next-gen trends. Because they live in this world every day.

Transparency & trust.

Whether it’s explaining what the best possible solutions are or why freight surcharges arise, we aim for clarity. We don’t hide costs, we explain them.

Scalability & flexibility

We support both start-ups ordering small runs and large enterprises ordering container loads. That adaptability helps you to grow without changing your supplier midstream.

At Glassworks International, we know that every question matters. Jamie and our team treat each query with care, clarity and expertise. That’s how we turn questions into trusted partnerships and why so many food and beverage brands trust us.
